At my local cinema's annual marathon I always take a bathroom break during the Shelob scene. I really can't stand spiders. Especially huge ones.

That is the perfect time for a bathroom break! Given the vocal audience reaction in the theater, I think a lot of other people wished they had that idea. Seriously, some people started crying. I was like, 'shut your eyes good people! We will get through this by not watching this scene!'

I'm actually the opposite. The bigger the spider, the less I'm afraid of it. I'm actually pretty cool with tarantulas and Shelob might as well be a bear for all she affected me. It's the tiny ones I have screaming horrors over. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think when I was young I got the idea they would crawl inside me or something, and to this day I have actual screaming nightmares about armies of tiny ones, but tarantulas and up are basically just extra-limbed hairy animals to me.

This is my sister. When we went to see Hobbit 2 together, I had to warn her when the spider scene was over.

After a minute or two the guy I was with at the time pressed my hat closer to my face so it wouldn't slip. He knew what was up.

Spiders have never bothered me, nor have snakes.

Actually, the only creepy crawly thing that bothers me is ants. That one scene in Indiana Jones 4 is one of the few creepy crawly scenes that I had to look away from and skip over on every rewatch.

I'm okay with snakes. I have an understanding with a guy at the office; if he kills the spiders then I'll drive off the snakes.

Oh yup, this is me as well. Doesn't matter if it's CG I can't handle them at all.

At least for LoTR and the Hobbit I knew the spiders were coming so I could guess when to hide and have whoever I was with tell me when it was over, but I hate it when movies have them and I don't know because I 1) get a face full of nightmare-fuel and 2) look like an idiot in front of strangers when I flinch at seeing them.
