Yeah, Krystal was one hell of a hot mess of a character at the end. The whole backstory behind "Star Fox Adventures" is pretty sad and explains a lot, though. Especially since the long and short of it, was that they had to sideline Krystal so as not to take away the spotlight from Fox McCloud once it went from the original 'Dinosaur Planet' IP to SFA (since she, along with a fox named Sabre, were the main characters. Oh, and she was apparently a cat, too). That's essentially why she got trapped in the Krazoa gem prison-thing for 95% of the game, IIRC.

(On that note, while it hasn't been confirmed either way, I'm convinced the IP change contributed to Rare's decision to stop being a Nintendo 2nd party and switch to Microsoft, but I digress)

As far as female SF characters go, part of me hopes Platinum Games includes Fay and Miyu from Star Fox 2 somehow -I mean, hell, they have the Arwing Walker-, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. But Katt Monroe is back and in her original appearance, at least.

Star Fox Zero is a reboot of the first game though, isn't it?

Why would they include her if she hasn't appeared in the timeline at that point yet?

until now, won't let my hope up for any the-only-one-female-character in a male-dominated series. they do not gave proper plot for female.
