I don't care about things that don't affect me or that I can't do anything about.

If a terrible thing happens, sure, I'll agree that it's terrible but I won't really have any kind of emotional reaction or invest time/energy into correcting it.

I feel the same. It's why I don't get all gung ho about the natural disaster stuff outside the U.S., but even then, it has to be stuff that happens close enough to my area for me to REALLY care and maybe send money for aid to.

See, in my case, it's even for things near me. Or even social justice issues (trans people, black people, Roma, etc.)

Unless there's any way it could possibly affect me, I just don't care.

Mind you, I don't think others are wrong to care but I just can't muster any concern myself.
