Emily Kaldwin Playable and badass! YaY!

Corvo a playable option. Boooo.

For real, you're actually unhappy that a playable option with the character exists at all?

We had a whole game with him in it. We do not need him stinking up hat should be Emilys moment of glory.

ugh, I know what you mean. Have you been following ubisofts attempt to win us over? "Look, a woman! are you happy now? oh, sure, she's only going to be part of the story for approx 25% of the missions, but you should be happy about us throwing you this scrap, right?!"

...hrm? Dishonored 2 isn't from Ubisoft, and we'll be able to play as Emily for the entire game.

That said, Ubisoft is being pretty ridiculous about their own offering, as usual.

Well, I for one sure are ready to "Exploit Feminism".
Seriously though I want both AC:S and Dishonored 2.

I'm okay with him being an option, although I don't think it's a necessary addition at all.

I'm definitely excited as hell to play as Emily, though, and for the game in general.

Im more excited to play Emily and then compare their playthroughs. A little sad to play corvo again as I feel his time has been and gone but also different perspectives and interactions.

Emily will be my main option though. New character in new city? Hell yeah!

And thank fucking everything we don't have to play Daud.

Emily looks ~~way too hot~~ amazing and I look forward to seeing what new skills she has. It'll be cool playing as someone different. (I felt Corvo's story left off in a good place anyway, so playing as him again didn't appeal to me initially.)

I don't mind that Corvo is an option though. I DO hope that everyone gives Emily's playthrough a try, and frankly when I first saw the trailer I thought she was the only playable character and was completely fine with that. Corvo being playable was not something I needed, but I'll take advantage of it eventually.

Oh man, this comment reminded me that I forgot to reply to you the other night. But goodness, do I agree with you on the hotness. She is both gorgeous and a BAMF and it's wonderful.

Yes!

I feel weird crushing on her considering the last time we saw her she was a cute kid who I wanted to protect, but now she's a hot, competent woman and I am all over that.

Her design is just so lovely, too. She's got her parents (strong) features, she isn't sexualized, she looks so COOL (I want her clothes)...

And of course her abilities look awesome, so far. The detail in her face and the way she moves... Sigh.

I'm sure our feelings will be even more complicated once the game comes out. I look forward to it.

I helped her when she was a little girl so I keep thinking of young Emily when I see her but yeah I'm sure after the game comes out I will see the new Emily and not my old memories.

(And I'll prob draw inappropriate fanart oh well!)

Nope. It's great you have the option to play both. Definitely improves the replay value. I'm happy about it.

I'm thrilled to finally get a stealth sequel with a female protagonist. I wanted the fourth Thief game to have one so badly especially given how Deadly Shadows ended. Erin was cool in the reboot but also kinda annoying and also not playable.

I had wanted to write fic about future!Emily being awesome like Corvo and instead they gave me a whole new game with her in that position. I've been weeping happily for days. T__T
