I never even noticed Raistlin's eyes on the covers until I read the books and went "He's got weird eyes? Oh. He does. Okay, then."

On the other hand, I'm in at least one anime-style fandom where even the creator can't keep the characters' eye colors consistent, which is pretty funny TBH.
