AYRT - Yeah. What's weird is that this friend always had kids as long as we were friends, but I remember her posts being way more balanced with other things. Now it's either her kids or other mundane stuff that's just not interesting to me.

I think I could handle it better if it was balanced with mundane stuff, but I haven't seen a post in months from any of them that wasn't about their kids somehow. :/

It makes me sad because I do know a lot of awesome people who didn't lose their identity when they had kids, and yet all the people I went to HS with somehow did?

AYRT - Yeah, it's weird. I don't get it.

That sounds a bit judgmental - one's Facebook feed doesn't necessarily reflect their whole identity.

That said though you can always just unsubscribe from them. They won't be notified, and you won't see their posts on your feed anymore.

I don't mean it to be, but it definitely is.

I would never say to someone, "Don't post anything about your family on your FB! I don't want to see it!" That'd be stupid, especially since for a lot of people, FB is a way of connecting with friends and family around the world who aren't always present for the minute details of their lives, and you're right, I can hide their feed and go on with my day (I had to do that with one person who posted multiple times a day about one of those home pyramid scheme type selling things, it was driving me nuts).

I just find it so strange that even if your feed doesn't reflect all of who you are, if you only post about one thing three times a day/seven days a week, it's a pretty good indication of your priorities.

Not saying if you're a parent that you can't make your kids a priority, but it seems weird to me that their whole world seems to have dissolved down to: Little Trenten did this today! LOOK!

I mean, was that your whole day? Your whole week? Did you do nothing else?

Maybe they are posting about that because that's what all their FB friends see/care about?

I don't know. At this point it's speculation on my part. To say that their kids are their whole identity, though, just feels kind of extreme.
