as it has been implemented? ehhhhhhhh.

speaking from the perspective of a US-ian:

as a concept it's very noble-sounding but it will never work in practice. you either have to put in regulations that make it less capitalism-y, or you're going to have a few rich jerks making it on the backs of the rest because capitalism favors lucky jerks.

I'm not totally anti-capitalist, I just don't think a pure system will work unless you think people deserve to be poor just for being nice and not lucky.

and as it's been implemented it's...okay but very poorly managed I think. which is probably just because of the general incompetence of a large government of a large nation.
