Not specified. Just not white. Probably mixed. I guess some Indian ancestry based on his appearance in the pilot, not that that's very useful for arguing canon.

Are you the same person who brings this up every time? Why? It's irrelevant in this case. Hispanic people can be white (I'm one myself, thanks) but not all of them are, and we're talking here about the fact that a creator has said this character is not white, not that he's Hispanic. So even if he is, he's a nonwhite Hispanic.

Sorry but I hate when people protest too much about how butbutbut Hispanics can be white!!!!!! It makes us look like we're trying to prove we're not as bad as racists think, because hey, some of us are white.

They're not really my favorites, but hey, why not? To each their own, OP. :) Still better than me, who have a completely ridiculous soft spot for Marty, of all people. Mostly because he happens to look A LOT like one of my favorite actors (Richard Brake!), but still.

Lars is a character that I loved to hate, but now I just plain love. I never get tired of how much Lars is frustrated by Steven's genuine belief in their friendship.

You go, anon! If you have two characters that you enjoy a lot, then you're not doing fandom wrong, you're doing it right! ;D

Steven's unrequited friendship is one of my favourite gags on the show. The kid is just so unflappable on that, though Steven stands his ground at very important moments (his mom being off limits), and it reminds me of the Squidward/Spongebob dynamic I loved so much.

idk, it's hard for me to think of a character in SU I don't like, or not understand where they come from. One of the best things in this show for me is how much it doesn't have to say, but show enough to put pieces together.

Be fair...Lars is a dick. Ronaldo's not connected enough to reality to manage to be a dick, so much as accidentally doing dickish things while flailing against whatever lunatic idea has caught his fancy this time.

This is true. (I think his worst moment was dragging Peedee into his delusions in the Sneeple episode. That poor kid's high strung enough.)

I thought his worst moment was in "horror club" when he tried to throw lars into the gem creature's mouth. I mean, the dude tried to straight up kill lars (granted, he did so because he hoped it would bring sadie back but still. he was perfectly okay with the idea that lars could be gone forever).

I consider both of them to be complete filler and usually rush through any episodes that center around them or anything not gems/Steven/Greg related. I kind of wish the show didn't bother with the town characters.

I can see shipping Sadie/Lars in the sense of "I want fanwork about them."

But not in show wanting it to be canon.

The "Nice Girl heals the Darth Vader by sensing good in him and bringing it out with true love and being happy with him." is a pretty toxic message to put out in canon.

There needs to be a good fandom term to differentiate "I like the idea of these characters being together in fanon" vs. "I want them to be canon." Because I ship the heck out of Lapis and Jasper, but there's no way them being together in canon could ever be a good idea and I'd be horrified if it happened.
