Re: protein supplements for vegetarians?

Like herpy, I'm in Canada, so product brands can vary depending where you are. I was using Designer Whey, and then switched to a Life Brand soy protein powder. I don't have either on hand atm, so I don't have them handy to say whether the whey one was lacto vegetarian, or if there was any animal by-product in the soy one (in case you have a strict outline for your diet).

It was good for what I needed it for, although I only saw it as a temporary solution until I could make sure I could eat proper meals each day. I was working myself stupid at two jobs, and my food options were either high-protein trash at McDonald's, free but nutritionally worthless day-old breads from the cafe, or whatever I had time to cook + supplements. I think it's fine if it's not completely substituting the amount you need overall, and if you don't mind the monotony that is essentially a protein drink (soy milk + soy powder. wooooo.).
