The first two people are being judged by actions they did as an adult. Though I'm no fan of Dunham, wasn't the incident you're referring to done when she was a child?

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I think she was seven when she did it.

Oh, okay. I'm not sure why people would hold a 7 year old to the same standards of behavior as an adult, but I figure it must be people who are determined to hate Lena Dunham.

because the MRA has a stronger grip on people than we would like to admit, so anything that legitimises hating women, even girls, will gain traction.

This. Frankly, when people go on about Lena Dunham being a child molester, I assume they're dodgy MRA types or pretending to be outraged just so they can vilify her.

O MMMM GGGGGGG. Where did you get your tinhat? I want one!

Re: Do you think Tumblr

the fact that her adult self have the nerve to expose the thing she did when she was a child like that, it just eughhh. maybe she naive, I don't know... you think i know?

It was a memoir from a comedian. Everyone should probably take it as a given that it's going to include cringey awkward things from childhood, otherwise what's the point...

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
nope. if being given jokes like this from non-comedians, damn, it won't have the end of it.

plus, why is it a thing?

This comment appears to be written in a language similar to, but not quite the same as English.

....should be include as the lost chapter of "frozen".

nah, joking, just joking.

Re: Do you think Tumblr

The thing about Lena Dunham, though, is that she wrote about it as an adult and then defended it as though it was never problematic. Like, "Ha ha! Didn't you shove things in your sister's vagina?!"

Re: Do you think Tumblr

Go fuck yourself

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, okay, but do you have anything to contribute to the conversation, bub?

Re: Do you think Tumblr

Clever argument

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I will acknowledge that's ooky but I don't think it makes her a rapist or a child molester or what ever other fucking thing anyone wants to say about it. And I honestly don't understand how someone could reach that conclusion, absent some kind of existing political agenda.

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
yep, op give a good example towards people who defend senselessly. is YOU, ABOVE-ME-ANON.

but, i never though you came in this fast.

Re: Do you think Tumblr

AYRT

LOL. Yes, of course it's political for someone to decry the actions of the precious Lena Dunham.

For what it's worth, I'm on the "ooky" side myself, though with a much stronger side-eye toward her vehement defense of her younger self's behavior.

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I don't give a shit about Lena Dunham; it's just that I've noticed an awful lot of people seem to take a lot of glee in having the opportunity to bash their political opponents over it.

Re: Do you think Tumblr

(Anonymous) 2015-06-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, she said some of the behavior continues until she was 17. including bribing her sister for kisses and masturbating in the same bed as her. And that gross stuff about looking at her sweaty body.
