What the previous anon said. People use evolutionary psych to justify shitty behavior, mostly about gender roles and how men can't help but stick their dick into everything that moves so you shouldn't expect your boyfriend/husband to be faithful, etc. etc. It's a willful misunderstanding and misapplication of science.

Yeah, I was once told that I ought to not be jealous and just accept that men are going to cheat on women (a/k/a ME) because most men do that sort of thing and I should be forgiving and shrug it off.

I think those people were only telling me that because they thought I had an unattractive face and therefore no good-looking man I wanted would be satisfied with me long-term.
