What's the appeal of milk in tea? (I'm American and we tend to just add sugar.)

Tastes good.

If we're talking black leaf tea and coffee, milk (specifically dairy or anything with added base thing) changes that acidity, and ofc the flavour. I think you're less able to taste and note the particularities of that tea, like the body, but now you have something nutty and generally smoother. Ever try strong tea with a chunk of condensed milk? Pretty good dessert drink of you like sweeeeet tea.

More importantly though I want to use that leftover milk instead of sipping a non-satisfactory amount. Pretty sure milk in tea/coffee isn't an unheard of thing in the states though?
