That's my main annoyance

I'm not saying good characters can't make drama, they can make great drama. They don't have to be evil to do that. But they have to be able to make mistakes and fuck up and have things be their fault and have the story recognize it as opposed to put on them to make them the heroic victim all the time

I agree that they should be able to make mistakes.

But I guess my other point is that I think great drama can come from basically external things. Of course that doesn't mean they have to be the heroic victim, I think they have to have some agency, but I just don't agree that the central driver of the drama has to be some flaw which they possess.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about drama though

I was talking about relatability, and how I can't relate to characters whose drama all comes from outside and is never their fault oh no
