I'd like to see it applied to sentient, motile beings who just... I dunno, curl up together in a big pool of water and let the magic happen. It sounds ridiculously cute to me.

It sounds adorable to me too, but I'm slightly ashamed that my next two thoughts were a) orgies, and b) polyamorous societies based around the formation of (literal) gene pools.
