Well, I honestly think he chewed the scenery as much as anyone else in Into Darkness. I think that was the direction everyone was given. It was a terribly movie. Not really his fault, tho.

I do think he's not as good as he might be at disappearing into his roles, and that's problematic. To be a truly great actor you have to delete all your precious bits, and I always see too much BC. I think he has the potential to do it eventually. He's still young.

I saw it in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was pretty unrecognizable—coincidentally, I think it was his best role and the best thing he's been in. But I think in general people pay to see BC, not [insert character here] and he probably knows it.

It's awesome. I prefer the miniseries—the novel is just so dense that it deserves to be a miniseries rather than a movie—but given the difficulty of turning it into a movie, they do splendidly.
