I don't get that pairing at all either. I mean, I kinda understand it if someone wants some very dark angst. As Will descending to Hannibal's level would just be so horrific for him. But that isn't what I've seen. So much of it is fluffy and murder families and everything is awesome and I just don't know what people are seeing in that relationship on screen that translates to those works.

EXACTLY. The way the pairing is written most of the time baffles me. So much fluff! I think this fandom epitomizes the whole idea of "dark canon = light fandom" and vice versa.
