No, they never say why his eye is like that. Here is the first part of that episode. Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYMGGc520Zc) Skip untill 4:13. Lance simply shows up with a black eye and that's that. No backstory. And thanks to the writer's strike we may never know! Oh, it's going to kill me.

The best thing about Lance? He comes with his own itty bitty henchman! He's practically a vampire mini-me.
