she obviously does need protecting from herself. if she tries to circumvent the rules, she could bring a great deal of trouble down around the ears of the archives if they let her in and set herself up for more trouble than I think it'd be worth for her and everyone else.

I guess I did phrase it kind of funny, though. *g*

I'd bet a fair amount of money that many members of 18+ sites and communities are faking their ages. Hell, I did it when I was under 18. The 18+ places had the best fic. I was just smart enough about it not to tell anyone at the time, and so no one got into trouble. (From the sound of it, it's not her who needs protecting, but the site and its owners.)

So did I. It takes a certain level of stick-up-assery honesty to actually pay attention to stuff like that. 18+ restrictions on sites effectively mean even less than drinking laws. As a wise man once said, "Some rules are made to be broken." :P
