As a DDD player, seeing you slag off one one of our own just REALLY pisses me off. There is not just ONE way to play a character. The fact that you think so really pisses me off. I think you're a damn bitch, and I just want to say fuck you. Daj-mun works so hard on her character, and you just totally ripped into her like she doesn't fucking matter. YOUR OPINION IS NOT ABSOLUTE, you little clit. Learn that.

For the record, I tried to be civil. I'm too enraged to be such.

wah wah wah...cry moar. so she doesn't like one of your players' characterizations. she's entitled to an opinion. get over it.

it's just fandom. it's just an rp. it's not like it's real life or anything.

Sure, she's entitled to an opinion. That means so are we. Magic, innit?

Maybe it is just an RP, but when somebody's pissing all over something that we happen to know means a lot to someone who we care about, it's only natural we'll defend them. RP isn't real life, but that doesn't mean it's unimportant.

True. But it does mean that it's more likely to, doesn't it? Wheny ou have as little to work with as Kadaj, interpretations are always going to differ - if someone puts the time and effort in to create a characterisation that is as close to the canon one as they can make it, just because it's their own doesn't mean it's OOC. And if the OP isn't just saying "goddamnit nobody plays Kadaj like I think he should be played", but is actually saying "look at how OOC these players and their IC relationships are", then the character development in the roleplay is important. What could look OOC at first glance may actually be perfectly natural in the course of the RP. Of course then we have the whole fanficrants-emperorsteele debates about whether character development outside of canon makes a character OOC, but down that road leads to wank.

Besides which, for the sake of argument, even if both players were incredibly OOC and the praised player was godlike, my main point (and I think the main point of most of the other defenders) was that praising one player, even praising the player and saying 'I've never seen an RPer who could play Kadaj right' doesn't need the OP to drag actual examples out. It's needlessly bitchy.
