As his parents said, he was an "old soul in a young body". BRILLIANT, wise, sensitive... and so, so humble. His proudest achievement was his daughter, and he was an incredible father to her. That's who I'm crying for the most.

Thousands of people die every day. Those who don't know the deceased obviously can't be expected to care about every one of those strangers. I'm sure plenty of awesome people died today, but they aren't making the papers because nobody cares. Why would they?

It's just so wonderful how you just called a person a 'cunt' because they didn't like the way people are being flippant about a person being dead.
If you really don't care about it, then just shut up about how you don't care and spot being an ass to people who do.

Just because some of us do not want to hear about his passing does not mean we are making light of his death. Just because I want the hysteria to pass and get on with my life does not mean I find it any less sad. I feel horrible for his family and friends, and his daughter in particular.

Am I not allowed to feel bad about his death, but still want people to shut up about it? I had my nose rubbed in the story not even an hour after he was found. That disturbed me, and has made me want to avoid the whole mess of 'was it a suicide? what about drugs? lets investigate every second of his personal life.' all the more. The man deserves some dignity in death.

Tons of people die every day.

It's not that his death isn't depressing, and it's not that he doesn't deserve respect, but you also have to imagine that several people did NOT know him and honestly are tired of hearing about it. It's not an insult to him, rather to the people who are constantly bringing it up.

Just because someone didn't know him, and therefore didn't have a great connection to him, and therefore isn't profoundly affected by his death doesn't inherently make them a bad person.

If this is true, and you knew him, then my sympathies. But maybe your time would be better spent in reflection rather than taking out your emotions on fandom secrets.
