Hey fans of secrets!

Just had an awesome time swimming in one of our favorite childhood swimming spots with the SO, and it was very lovely since we went in the early afternoon before it was too hot and there were barely any people around. I realized I had forgotten just how much I like swimming, since I hadn't done it in ages.

So tell me about your favorite summer activities! Beach parties? BBQs? What do you do when it gets hot in your neck of the woods?

My favourite summer activities are gaming in a darkened room, drinking things with lots of ice cubes and maybe go for walks at night.

Hahaah aww. This is usually me as well but sometimes I like to pretend I'm human like everyone else.

I just really can't stand the heat and the critters and all. But sometimes if it's a nice day, sunny with a bit of clouds and lots and lots of wind, I might even go do things outdoors!

lmao, this was pretty much what I was going to say. "Sitting in my room gaming, watching tv or reading with a fan on. Maybe taking a walk in the morning, but mostly staying out of the heat."

I don't do well in hot weather.

If I'm not constantly exposed to direct sunlight, I can function in the heat but what really kills me is humidity. Hot and dry is really annoying but hot and humid is terrible.

Yes, hot and humid is a terrible combination. Hot is bad enough (I am not fond of sweating over much) and being in direct sunlight kills me (tend to get cramps if I stay there long enough, plus I burn easily), but when it's humid...*shivers*

It was always about going places for me.

For instance, I remember when I was a kid we'd go visit my uncle's family, who lived way out in the middle of the woods, and just spend all day wandering around their massive backyard and chilling in their pool and then eating homemade blueberry pie at night.

Also, similarly, going to a family summer camp up in the mountains and spending all week swimming in the lake. Just really good times.

Staying the hell inside with the air conditioning on and the windows covered up. Summer doesn't get tolerable until late August/early September.

The county fair is in full swing in my town. I've really only been out to work at one of the stands but hopefully I'll have time to walk around tomorrow. I would love to go on the rides, honestly, but none of my friends are around and I don't want to be the weird twentysomething girl alone in the midst of hundreds of kids/tweens.

Doooo iiiiit. I would go with you, because I love rides so much. Do it for me!

International soccer. Currently watching the Women's World Cup, next year it will be the Euros, last year it was Men's World Cup.

Basically, sitting inside, drinking, and screaming about missed goals. That is my summer.

Cookouts, picnics, just being outside...I like chillin' in the sunroom at my parents' house where I can put on the fan if it gets too hot, and there's comfortable furniture, but I'm still getting fresh warm air, and I can read or use my laptop and have food/drinks if I want. <3

Aww man that makes me wish I had a sunroom.

Alas, I do not have one of my own, but luckily I have a higher tolerance for heat than most people I know. (Luckily in the summer, at least. I also have a shit tolerance for cold, which is to say basically no tolerance at all.)

A nice long sweaty hike, followed by an ice cold shower and triumphant exit of the bathroom bellowing, "I AM REBORN IN THE BLOOD OF THE ICE GIANTS!"

Oh, and iced hibiscus tea with frozen raspberry ice cubes, with cucumber or watermelon.

I love that it gets light at 5 a.m., the perfect time for taking a walk. Or going out late in the evening, that sort of silky heavy heat pressing down everywhere, and fireflies in the dark. I love garage sales and the farmers' market on Saturday mornings, and growing tomatoes and marigolds in the backyard.
