This looks interesting. What's it about? Where can I watch? Is there any nudity?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-29 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's called Killjoys and you can watch it on Syfy's website, I think.

I'm not good with summarizibg, so you be better off Googling it. I'm enjoying the hell out of it tbh.

There's no nudity, so far. There's only two episodes out and it is pretty fun. Here's the premise from Wikipedia.

Killjoys follows a trio of hard-living but fun-loving bounty hunters – John, D'avin and Dutch – taking on interplanetary missions, chasing and capturing deadly criminals throughout a distant system named the Quad. They have sworn amongst themselves to remain neutral during a bloody, multi-planetary class war that threatens to destroy the Quad.

Are you asking about nudity because you want to see it or because you don't?

I'm sure you have a good reason for asking but that does strike me as odd.

By the promo pic it looks like a GotG ripoff with Zoe Saldana's less successful cousin.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-30 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all like GotG. Much more like Burn Notice In Space! Only the woman is Michael Westen.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-30 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Suddenly this sounds interesting.

As I get older, I realise that Humpty Dumpty was right. We all mostly look alike.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-29 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, with all the airbrushing and photoshop, I have trouble telling actors and actresses alike on posters, regardless of race.
It's only racist if you think all black people are hard to tell apart because they all just 'look the same', or something like that.

Ugh, don't get me started.
With all the repetitive 3-d models, stupid CGI, and misuse of great programs such as Corel Painter, Photoshop, and color picker apps, I could easily give up on most modern visual media. I still know how to separate the good stuff from the crap, but I wish I could go back to the time when I was less visually experienced. I'd have less headaches that way.

SA
And, worse yet, this isn't a new problem. I hate looking at old European dolls. All of those stupid faces painted in different colors, but always in the same shape. Ethnic dolls at least have more variety in their facial proportions, so you don't get that " all _____ from this country look alike" impression.

Oh, yeah, where they're obvious cast from the same shape of mold? That is annoying.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-30 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not racism. It's scientifically proven that people have problems identifying people of other races. Google cross-race effect.

This show is terrible imo Barely kept my attention through the first 2 eps, not sure I can sit through any more.

First thought: "So is this in anyway related to My Chemical Romance?" (Gerard DID have a comic series.)

I'm guessing that's a no.
i_paint_the_sky: (Orphan Black // Helena)

Pretty sure there's no involvement. It's produced by the same company that does Orphan Black, so the people behind the scenes are probably very Canadian.
