Re: Stupid small towns

I live in a small city where most of the population is originally from small towns and haven't let go of the small town mentality. Anyone who isn't white or is visibly "ethnic" looking and/or doesn't dress in an entirely conventional, trendy, mainstream way WILL be gawked at like they're an animal in a zoo.

ugh. this. I'm white and I moved out of my small town into one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the US partly because the people in the small town were so damn ignorant about anyone who wasn't white and i couldn't stomach it. The small town even had a few fucking klanners in it. I hate those assholes.
also, less offensive but they all dressed either trendy/mainstream or like it was the fifties and they thought you were a total weirdo if you didn't want to dress that way. Which I sure didn't.
