Didn't she suffer from mental illness and didn't that contribute to a lot of her problems?

That's what I thought. Which makes me uncomfortable about the whole she let herself go thing.

Yeah, I happened across it while looking for something else the other day. She has bipolar disorder that wasn't treated until later in life. I have type 2 (hypomania, rather than full-blown mania, which presents as ridiculous productivity for me... and no sleep) and I know how difficult that's made my life, especially pre-diagnosis. It makes me uncomfortable too, though a lot of people aren't aware of her mental illness.
