Re: Sex/legality of marriage...is this true?

someone's landlord kicked out a couple for being asexual

I remember seeing something about that! I also remember something about a couple wanting to adopt a kid and being denied because they were asexual.

Because, of course, when prospective parents are being interviewed, they *must* be interrogated about their sex life!

I just...where do these people even come up with this shit?

Well, for instance, say hypothetically some asexual couple is trying to adopt a child, and for some reason unrelated to their asexuality, it doesn't go through - which happens. Then say that - maybe they convince themselves it's because they're asexual, and tell everyone it's because of that, or maybe they lie, or whatever, and so a story comes to pass along those lines.

I'm not saying it's that, but it could be something similar.

ayrt

If it actually happened at all (as opposed to something someone just 100% made up) I could see it being something like that. It's just the leap from "oh, we were denied" (for whatever reason) to convincing themselves it's because of their sexuality, or telling other people it is...the idea of that subject even coming up in an adoption interview is just so far outside the realm of believable. It seems obvious they'd be trying pretty hard to find a reason to feel offended/oppressed, and that's just ridiculous.
