I so agree. But I gave up on this show before it ever happened. But most of the time even if I wish shows stuck with UST I still see the chemistry. Here there wasn't even any chemistry and I didn't see any UST. I honestly just saw them as friends (and he was mostly obnoxious anyway and she could do so much better).

You are not alone. I think lots of fans were like...was it Cho who was blindsided by it?

Yeah, when it happened, I was yelling at my TV: "Lisbon, no, that man is a fucking sociopathic trainwreck!"

And I was right. He never really changed.

I didn't hate it but I wasn't thrilled when it happened either, and I even ship it a bit but I never actually wanted it to be canon(I occasionally got one-sided feelings from Libson but it never really felt like Jane viewed her as anything other than a friend).

(Although that being said I really, really didn't like how the show treated and handled Lisbon's relationship with her boyfriend, he was a decent bloke and got shat on majorly just so Jane and her could hook up. That was bad).

Me too, refused to watch the last season because of them hooking up. On top of feeling like there was never any chemistry and that they worked better as friends, the soap opera drama that occurred to develop their relationship into a romance was disgusting. Lisbon agreeing to marry her boyfriend and go to DC with him being prompted by her being mad at Jane, leading to him hopping a fence at an airport (seriously, in this day and age?) to climb onto her plane and dramatically confess... It was truly awful. And she played it off afterwards like it was no big deal, her blowing off her boyfriend once Jane had admitted his feelings. The guy proposed to her and she said yes for crying out loud!

Everywhere I looked though, all the comments praised the pairing and were happy with it "finally" happening.

Haven't watched this show in forever. Still disappointed that it happened even though everyone could tell it would from Day 1.

Well you aren't alone. Though I think most fans sort of gave up on the show towards the end, so aren't so invested in it or what happened. I sort of watched (my Mum did and I got an idea of what happened via her), but everything towards the end (including the Red John stuff) seemed too overboard for me. The show makers drove it into the ground.
I loved Jane and Lisbon early on because the show wasn't pushing the romance. Ugh.

The show became pure fan service after Red John died. So while I'm a Cho/Jane shipper, I gave up and let the Jane/Lisbon come.

Aw yeah, Cho/Jane. I haven't been in the fandom for years, but that was my jam. What an underrated ship
