What are some things you really think should have a fandom, or more of one?

Everwood.

You'd think with Chris Pratt's current level of stardom and Emily VanCamp's TV and Marvel work, that show could get a little resurgence of love.

And, as always: Journeyman.

Yeah, I was thinking that too.

It always surprised me a bit that Mad Men didn't have one really, but on the other hand, Mad Men's a bit of a cult following, and I don't think it's really big among fandom types.

I'm more surprised Parks and Rec doesn't/didn't have one, but again, more of a cult hit. I wish it did though, I want Pawnee fic. And a Prairie Home Companion crossover, because it would work so well.

I really kind of wish that Killer Instinct had more of a fandom outside of the tournament/technique/online match/general FGC aspect. Sure, it's not as deepest lore as its contemporaries, but it has a certain kitschy charm to it. There's maybe one or two people on the official forums who are into the lore aspect, but aside from that, it's a pretty blah fandom. (I also am craving ARIA/Fulgore fic and art like burning, esp. if ARIA is dom, haha. I would suggest it for Yuletide, but I can't write worth a shit)

F-Zero's another... I know it has a small following on Tumblr, but I wish a new game would come out so it could be a little bit bigger. I don't want to focus on competitions and time trials et al, I just want to talk to people about goofy headcanons and making up silly fandom crap like I used to with ex-friends a decade ago (... has it really been that long? Ughhh, I'm old).

Babylon 5 should have a bigger fandom.

I wish Dune had a fandom besides fans who were only in it for Leto II in the second miniseries.

I wish Legend of the Seeker had a bigger fandom if only so that we could have gotten more than 2 seasons.

Agree with Babylon 5. Thought, the tumblr fandom is actually fairly active.

DA

B5 fandom back in the day was H-U-G-E. JMS posted on alt.tv.babylon5, The Lurker's Guide was *the* website to visit for all things B5, it was mentioned in nearly every issue of Starlog and the other major magazine I am blanking on the name of because I never read it, the discussions on USENET and GEnie (might have been CompuServe, I was mainly on the USENET newsgroup), were massive things and there was tons of discussions on, frex, the various arc plots that were advancing, and tying back into the almost unnoticed threads going back all the way to the second season.

TL:DR; B5 fandom was massive when it was in first-run. ~memories~

But I was too young and Internet-less to enjoy it!

That sounds really awesome, though.

Devious Maids. I just want all the femslash, particularly Zoila/Genevieve femslash.

CrossGen

There're a lots of interesting stories, worlds, and characters. There's a lot still left unexplored for meta and fanfiction. There's just a lot of potential.

Yeah, it would be pretty cool. But with the publishers abandoning it, I don't know if comics fandom is ever likely to latch onto it.

I have a tiny bit of hope that since Marvel/Disney owns CrossGen, they might come out with a movie or something. I personally feel that Meridian is tailor-made for the Frozen/Big Hero 6 crowd. They really dug to find BH6 so I don't think CrossGen is any less obscure.

If that does happen, I think there might be a resurgence of interest and they might rerelease the graphic novels. I know, the likelihood is still very slim but I still hope.

(Although I also fear it, as I wasn't too thrilled with their recent attempt at a reboot. But I figure that any attention would be welcomed at this point and the reboots don't negate the originals.)

We're Alive: A Story of Survival. WHY AREN'T PODCASTS MORE POPULAR? It is a story podcast with everything Tumblr would love! Strong women. Complicated women. People of different races. Disabled people (of various kinds). Zombies! ROMANCE! Adventure! BETRAYAL! MURDEEEERRRRRRR! SCIENCE! MYSTERY! EVERYTHING!

Yet, they are only like 2 stories on AO3.

I tried listening after you recced it, I really did. But the actors could not make any of the dialogue sound natural or realistic and I couldn't stand more than a few minutes.

Marathon. The only real fandom for it is on a specific forum and it's full of assholes. I'll probably never see any real love for it elsewhere because it was a Mac-only FPS series (the 2nd game had a PC release but that's even more obscure) from the mid-90s that was directly competing with the likes of Doom and Quake (and has drawn comparisons to System Shock as well.) Halo is the much more well-known Bungie series and while the first game still had an auteur vibe the series as a whole doesn't quite have the depth of its predecessor.

At least thanks to Aleph One it's free and playable on modern computers regardless of OS. Hopefully I can get at least someone to play through the series sometime.

Mystery/detective shows. I know there's a small Inspector Morse/Lewis fandom, but a lot of those shows seem geared toward an older audience and there isn't much of a fandom for them in terms of fic, art, etc. I'm amazed that more people don't watch Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, though. Gorgeous cast, gorgeous wardrobe, very sex positive and it's FUN.

The Ancillary series by Ann Leckie. Those books are amazing.

'Cinnamon and Gunpowder' was a good book too. C'mon, food porn, pirate queens, and the cranky chefs who love them? How has this escaped public notice?

The Raven Cycle is a good, if flawed, series. The author is a condescending ass, but the prose makes it rain on my face.

Honestly> Certain MMOs. I know there's a fandom for WoW, I follow people for it, but I feel like...the fic in teh fandom, especially as far as the in game NPCs are concerned, are mostly bad and the good stuff happened ages ago and have been lost to time.

SWTOR needs some more Fem!BH/Gault fanfic and fucking stat.

But these probably don't really count. *shrug*
