Um, in the US, federal law and most state laws have one-party consent for recording telephone and in-person conversation, which means that if the person recording is part of the conversation, that recording is perfectly legal - only eleven states require the consent of every party to a phone call or conversation in order to make the recording lawful.

In Denmark, Finland, and Latvia, calls and conversations may be recorded by any active participant, with no requirement to make other parties aware of the recording.

Yep. And with certain things here in the US, like, as an example, the Comcast employees who keep running in circles to keep you from deactivating your service, you damn well better believe that that conversation will be recorded.
