The Last Word

Dealing with somebody right now who very clearly only posted so they could have the last word as it resorts to belittling me and my comment, and I want so badly to call them on it.

But then it would just look like me being the one who needs to have the last word. Is it better to let them have it and hope they're as transparent to everyone else or to call them on blatant douchebaggery.

I know the answer but temptation is so strong.

my response to those sorts of things depends on my mood. if I'm in the mood to argue, I'll respond. But, otherwise, I'll leave it or just post a sarcastic gif.

I didn't say I wasn't. But I'm trying not to be. And you'll notice, I haven't mentioned the thread this is in response to, so "last word" on it is kind of irrelevent.

I'm going to take your advice to an extreme end to point out its ridiculousness: "If you're trying not to be a smoker, just don't smoke." "If you're trying to get more sleep, just go to bed earlier." "If you're trying to spend more time with your kid, just quit one of those jobs so you can."

Things are rarely as easy done as they are said.

NAYRT but with a case like this, for me, a ton of that feeling - of THIS IS SO IMPORTANT I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING - really goes away so quickly once I just think about something else for even, like, 10 or 15 minutes. It just seems so small once you disengage. So you kind of just have to train yourself to disrupt that mental hold.

I don't know, that's all I got.
