What ships have you written for, or what ships do you ship that have zero to only a few fan works for them? Bonus if they seem obvious, but somehow no one is writing for them.

Thor/Storm

They have canon moments in the comics, but their fandom presence as a couple is incredibly rare.

Doesn't help that I want Marvel to get their X-Men rights back so they could meet up in MCU, even though I know more characters is the very last thing this film series needs at the moment...

Rare pair hell describes me in the WWE fandom right now. Written two fics for fairly rare ships (Randy Orton/Seth Rollins, Kane/Seth Rollins). Written one fic that is the only one the tag (Sheamus/Dolph Ziggler). Writing a gen-ish series that is getting shippy for a pairing where the only other fic in tag was written for me (Jamie Noble/Joey Mercury). (I'm trying to recruit other people to that ship because it's my main one!)

Oh man, so many.

Digimon: Tai/Mimi. I think I'm one of like...three people of all time that shipped this.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Stardust Crusaders: Joseph/Avdol. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough? This one seems like it should be really popular, but I rarely see any old!Joseph shippiness at all, and I only see Avdol with Polnareff.
Final Fantasy VII: Barret/Tifa. This one seemed really obvious to me?? Tifa was practically Marlene's mother as it was, it seemed very natural to me that they should be together. :( Also I had a gigantic soft spot for Aeris/Yuffie, but I've found one piece of art for it.
Wild Arms: Jack/Cecilia. I felt like there was a lot of potential there, and I don't like the concept of people never ever moving on from their dead ex-lovers, but I was pretty alone in that.
Tales of the Abyss: Jade/Nephry. Doubly depressing to me because there's such a massive lack of Nephry fanworks in general.

That's just off the top of my head, but I have a ton more. Rare ships are just how I roll, apparently. :(

I never thought of Tai/Mimi! I don't really remember their canon interactions at all. But, then again, I shipped Tai/Izzy and I can't recall them interacting as often as Tai/Matt. (My first fic ever was for Izzy/Ken too. Talk about rare.)

I was won over by the episode where her Crest activated, when she had been given her own castle and she was SO into it (I'm pretty sure there was some sort of evil influence too, but I can't remember), but Tai managed to get through to her and convince her to come back to the group. I just thought it was so sweet, and that no one else would have really been able to do it.

Oh man I barely remember that ep. I did a rewatch over a year ago, but it's faded from memory already.

Haha, I don't blame you, the first series was a bit touch and go at the start, so a lot of the smaller character arcs kind of faded out fast. It was just one of those moments that totally imprinted on me for some reason.

Off the top of my head: Charles/Hank and Charles/Alex were both almost nonexistent, and I liked the idea of both despite being a massive Charles/Erik fan.

Always wanted unrequited David Alleyne/Teddy Altman too, but as far as I know that never happened.

Oh, and Jenny Sparks/Swift from The Authority.

I'm not even in the fandom but I've always like Beast and Hank has the bonus of being played by the delicious Nicholas Hoult in the new movies, so I want to ship him with everyone. I vaguely recall shipping him and Charles when I watched the movie.

Hoult is super hot and adorable and that's a reasonable reaction to have! I was disappointed he got stuck with just Alex... And I like Alex, I just don't find that to be the most interesting or natural ship.

Most of my ships for Tolkien are very rare pairs, especially as I ship obscure characters like Amlach and Halmir.

Even when I do write popular pairings, I guess I like them in ways that aren't popular (book-verse for the most part, it seems) so it seems my take on them is quite rare too. :(

I recently allowed F!S to convince me that reading a Clark Kent/Steve Rogers fic was a good idea...

Yeah you know who you are >:(

...but seriously though.

I'm a terrible person. But, I think that author plans on writing more at least?

Oh man, and I thought I was through with the days of hanging on to the whims of one fickle writer when I joined this fandom, lol.

Uhhh. Better to have loved and lost than never to love at all?

Shirasu/Ageha, in the miniscule Basara fandom.

Xanadu/Blood/Etrigan (or a combination thereof) in the only slightly larger Demon Knights fandom. (I don't ship it so much as find the dynamic and logistics fascinating).
