Re: Naruto Gaiden-sorry!

I knew it was a red herring, but still. Naruto's moving speech to Sarada ended up being totally worthless. This whole thing has been pointless, so I'm glad it's ending.

I wouldn't say pointless...It was a set up for why Sarada wants to become Hokage (See, the movie coming up). For that window in time she saw she could think of someone as family, despite not being blood related. Even though she is blood related in the end, that still had an effect on her. It's also why Sarada is Boruto's rival, because Boruto hates Hokages and Sarada loves 'em now.

It still seems pretty damn pointless to me, sorry. As someone who was adopted, it just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't know how it plays into the movie, but I'm pretty sure it would have been much more meaningful if she'd been adopted and took Naruto's speech to heart, came to accept that she thinks of Sakura as her mom and then used that as inspiration to do what she wants as hokage. As it is, it's just a broken aesop.

Considering that Naruto said he thinks of Iruka as his father, no, it doesn't mean 'adoption be bad yo'. It'd be pretty shitty for Karin to have just abandoned her child, and would have made no sense for Sasuke to have sex with Karin. And Karin going crazy, stealing Sasuke's DNA and having a child against his will probably would have been too sexual for Kishi. Keep in mind he wouldn't let Naruto have a girlfriend until he was twenty.

Also, Sakura has gone through far too much shit to at least not have something. I'm glad she's the real mother. Both biologically and naturally.

I didn't say it meant adoption be bad? I've got no idea where you got that idea. And it could have be done entirely differently than Karin dealing Sasuke's DNA or having sex with Karin. Hell, it doesn't make sense for Sasuke to have sex with anyone.

They brought in Orochimaru and the clone angle, something could have been done with that. I'unno. It still bugs me. I just thought it would make better sense writing wise, but this is Kishimoto, so that's entirely my fault.

I dunno about the whole thing being pointless. Sarada stands far ahead of Kishi's past female characters, at least with her having goals, ambitions, and purpose (finding Sasuke and her biological Mom).
