A lot of private schools require vaccinations too, and while California is one of the more lenient states for homeschooling, in a lot of other places people attempting to homeschool without strict government oversight have been subjected to fines, having their children taken away, and arrest for encouraging truancy.

I'm not anti-vaxx but I do not like this recession of parental rights. There's a good chance they're gonna go after homeschooling next. A California official several years back took one case of (suspected) child abuse in a homeschooling home and said IIRC, "parents do not have the right to teach their children at home." This man's word was law. Luckily the Homeschooling defense league got in there and tore him a new one.

Oh please this is not 'a recession of parents rights' this is about protecting other vulnerable children from the stupidity of a parent potentially not vaccinating their child.
