I've never really gotten into LPs. Is this a good show to start with?

Not OP.
It depends on what you want out of an LP.
If you want to just watch the game, then no.
But if you want commentary and interaction, then maybe?
They're not LOLSORANDOM or scream for no reason like Pewdiepie, but they never really hush-up.
I love them. Their LP of Heavy Rain is how I got into these guys specifically.

Commentary is good by me, but yeah, not so much into the screaming. I tried to watch a Pewdiepie video once and I found him so irritating I stopped after one minute. Thanks for the info, I think I'll check them out.

It also tends to depend on which game they're playing. Some playthroughs they get really into it (Phoenix Wright, Zelda, etc.) while other games they get really frustrated and it turns into them taking the piss out of it. If they do that to a game you enjoy, it might turn you off of them. Fraser also gives no fucks if he offends someone, so if you're not used to his sense of humor it can come off as mean/insensitive. Regular viewers are used to it and just write it off as him trolling or "the frage." One of the best moments on the show was his super-stereotyped interpretation of "gangsta rap," titled "Gold in Ma Teeth."

My personal favorite LP of theirs is Rhythm Heaven Fever. For the most part everyone has a blast and a bunch of their jokes are hilarious (mainly "Air Rally" and "Figure Fighter").

Agreed. In the end I tend to prefer the LPs where they are having fun and enjoying themselves, but eh, it's all a matter of taste.

I think what you said about Fraser is part of why the show works better to me when there are at least one or two more people with him. I love the guy, but when he gets frustrated it's good that there are other people around to still keep the show balanced. Even if they aren't liking a particular game at least they are usually still kinda having fun, since they can talk with each other and crack jokes and stuff.

Little Inferno for me! They're pretty entertaining without being too obnoxious.

I personally like how unique their setting is (group of friends on the left, chat + game on the right). They're very casual, more focussed on having fun with friends than necessarily taking games super seriously and being great at whatever they're playing. I guess that can make them frustrating to watch for some people (90% of the time they won't pay attention enough during tutorials and get confused about ridiculous things at some point, haha), but I think that's just part of the show, and what makes them enjoyable.

I'd say their Phoenix Wright playthroughs are great places to start, since they voice-act the entire games, and they're pretty great at it. My personal favorite might still be the Rythm Heaven Fever one though. The Air Rally mini-game always makes me laugh to tears :D

Now I'm interesting in checking out their Phoenix Wright stuff. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look them up! :]

I have nothing to say about that particular video, I'm just here to say I could watch the videos where Fraser rages at his new, defective Xbox One all day. Also, I kind of miss the days when VGA was a little more overview/review-y and less straight-up LP.

Just watched Part 1. That was cute!
