Re: What's a TV show, book, or movie that you knew you SHOULDN'T like, but you did?

Oh man, the shooting episode was so good ("Death and All His Friends" I mean, not the episode where Burke got shot at the hospital although that one was good too). It was the first Grey's episode in a while to really engage me; I know some people who thought it was too much, but I loved it. It also had the bonus of getting rid of some of the annoying characters brought in because of the hospital merger (Reed and Charles were just awful. I wanted to throttle them whenever they showed up on screen. I feel kind of bad for being happy that they got shot, but I was okay with whatever it took to get them gone)

The plane crash episode was pretty great too imo. It's too bad that they killed off Lexie RIGHT as I was finally warming up to her character though. Poor girl.

I agree with everything you said. The episode made me cry, actually, which made me feel like a big baby, but it was kind of terrifying. Watching the characters I came to love go through that was just awful. That scene where Cristina keeps operating with the gun to her head, with Owen and Meredith and Jackson, was one of my favorites of the series.

I liked the plane crash episode too! It felt a little (well very) unrealistic to have it happen but I thought they pulled it off alright. I hated that they killed off Lexie and Mark, I actually liked them a lot, and I liked Lexie from the beginning. They were wise not to have her actually be interested in Derek. It would have been her death sentence.

Oooh yeah, that operating scene was genuinely intense. I also really liked the PTSD storyline that Cristina got because of it; I thought it was a great arc for her character and it solidified her as my favorite.

I thought Lexie was a bit too annoying and quirky when she first showed up tbh (but I was also kind of pissed off at the show around the time she showed up, so she may have just gotten swept up in that). As the show went on, I found her character to be a lot interesting and bit charming in a way. It's made her character more enjoyable when I rewatch older episodes

See, I liked Lexie and I liked her with Mark in the beginning. But then when there was the whole storyline with Callie getting pregnant and her actually angry with them, I stopped liking her. She was just so immature during that whole storyline. It was fine to not want to be with someone with a child, but to actually be angry with him for having a child when he only slept with Callie while he and Lexie were broken up just showed her immaturity to me. And I just never could get over that and like her again.

I liked Lexie enough that that didn't kill her character for me, but I agree she was acting immature. To be fair though, he did spring this being a Mom/being a grandmother thing on her (while they were in a relationship) not once but twice. I wish she'd been more mature about it though.
