I agree that Disney and Pixar fans can get very over-the-top when it comes to even the mildest criticisms and I say this as a big Disney fan. It's true that Pixar is a pioneer in 3D animated movies and I think they have made some fantastic ones, but I can't say that I've liked every single thing they've produced. And yet I have seen people take it very personally when someone mentions that they don't like this or that particular Disney/Pixar film.

I do wish that animated films outside of Disney-Pixar-Dreamworks got more recognition. The vast majority of Best Animated Feature Oscar winners have come from one of the big 3 studios and I don't believe they were always deserved. But I've read somewhere that a good chunk of the judges admit that they don't really watch most of the movies in that category so they tend to give it to the movie with a recognizable studio name. Don't know how true that is, but it wouldn't surprise me.
