Re: Worst shippers

Well, I can see how someone wouldn't like it but I guess what I meant was, even in the new films, I don't get how one can act as though it's weird for people to ship them. Kirk and Spock a HUGE amount of time together. Spock cries for Kirk and they have all these "moments" -- so even if you don't find it convincing yourself, I don't see how anyone could be surprised that others ship it.

Like, if someone shipped Chekov and Admiral Marcus, that'd be weirder to me considering they never exchange a single word.

But as for the establishment of the bond, that's just down to interpretation as to how well it was done.

Reason it's bad is that majority of the "bond" was established in the game that bridged the films. And most people didn't play it plus, it was a bad game.

see i actually get it a bit from the second movie because at least at the beginning it's establishing that these two are in fact friends now, but then the movie shits all over that by doing a wrath of khan redux that feels completely undeserved, like the movie was trying to force that relationship so hard but instead of giving us more time with the two of them as friends so that the loss feels genuine it just comes off as completely over the top and corny instead.

but if we're going with the first movie: no, i don't get why everyone shipped it and honestly only think it was popular because people were just slapping the tos relationship onto the movie counterparts regardless of how little sense that made.
