I'm only familiar with them through fandom osmosis, but dang, I'd probably read this fic anyway. IDC that the premise is ridiculous, sappy friendship stories with characters being ridiculously protective make my heart melt pretty much regardless of the nature of the canon. High five, OP!

That was my thought. There's quite a lot of Daily Show slash out there as far as I know, I can't imagine that no one wrote any Bill/Jon friendship fic.

I remember hearing a story about Stephen talking with his audience about RPF before a show. I don't know if someone asked him about it or he brought it up himself, but I think it was even mentioned a couple times on The Colbert Report. Don't recall if Jon ever mentioned it, but I know it used to be fairly popular. (And I'm almost certain Bill featured in some of the fics...probably not always as the villain, either.)

Oh Jesus, did they? I didn't visit often because I watched on TV/DVR and kept my favorite episodes, but I wouldn't put it past Stephen to want that kind of thing posted. Even his character kind of shipped himself with Bill, lol.

As someone who used to follow the Daily Show fandom pretty closely, the fic you seek is probably out there somewhere.

I dunno about people from that side of the table, but I know it was fandom's thing to make Jon and Stephen hang out with the MSNBC guys (Olbermann when he was there, Rachel Maddow, etc. Anderson Cooper is part of the 'gang' too). Chances are there are fics out there written about Jon and Fox people.
