That was kind of my take on it too. Especially as early on she's immersed in her own fantasy-world. At that age it's not uncommon to have a crush on an older guy, and I always saw it as an exploration of that idea.

I like Sarah/Jareth fic, and I'm happy that most of it has Sarah aged up appropriately.

Yeah. I saw it more as Sarah's fantasy than anything real. And also, unlike, say, Bella Swan, SHE TELLS JARETH NO. Part of her fantasy is beating him and leaving him heartbroken and pining after her! That's actually pretty great, now that I think of it!
