"Dangerous place for ideas and information"

Wait, I thought it was the tumblr crowd we were accusing of groupthink and quashing independent thought, here.

I'm sure they meant spreading extremely questionable ideas (see: the shoplifting community) and misinformation but enjoy it up there on your high horse.

loooooooooooool

yes, the internet is a fast and efficient means of sharing "dangerous ideas" like pornography, then terrorism, and now "social justice"

somebody call the fbi

I'm sorry, I thought it was obvious that I meant it's a bad medium for disseminating ideas and information, because its structural incentives encourage misinformation, discourage back-and-forth discussion, and encourage groupthink and dogpiles. I apologize for giving you too much credit, and I hope this explanation helps keep you from continuing to make an ass of yourself.

That's one awfully roundabout and rectally agonized way of saying "shit, 'dangerous place for ideas and information' really was thoughtless hyperbole, wasn't it; well, I'm mad at you for saying so, anyway" but I'm pleased to have given you the chance to restate your opinion in a way that seems even remotely credible and not the kind of hand-wringing people do about the internet all the time.

You're welcome!
