I'm irrationally baffled by people who are choosing Hoshido instead of Nohr. How does turning your back on the family that actually RAISED you make sense? Bloodline means nothing.

sb: I'm judging people for a videogame. And having the choice be hard is the whole point!

The point'd be that there's a limit to how much of my life I'm willing to spend on a video game, no matter how much I love it.

Just in general. I play Awakening with the fallen-units-return setting, too.

It's a game, though; people don't necessarily make that choice based on their RL idea of family. Maybe they choose Hoshido because they wanna side with the peaceniks instead of the military hardasses, or maybe they simply like the character designs and color schemes more, or something. Unless you see many people stating that "blood family" is the reason, it doesn't have to be that.

Meanwhile, I'm still really disappointed that the Nohr and Hoshido stories will be sold seperately. I thought I could check out both families before I make a choice, and now you have to do it beforehand, which spoils the choice in the first place.

Spoilers? IDK.

Yeah, but Nohr kidnapped Kamui. They may be his family, but it was by force.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That was my first thought too. Bloodlines may not matter, but there's no way I'd side with kidnappers.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-08 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on the person. I've seen men and women who were kidnapped as babies by the Church and even after knowing the truth they still stuck with their adopted families and refused to meet their biological parents or siblings.

This.

I'm getting Theon Greyjoy-ish vibes, personally.

And they still view their Nohrian siblings as. Siblings. Surprise, surprise! Family can be fucked up but still family! They certainly weren't forced to have happy bonds with their siblings, that's for sure.

Meanwhile, they know jack shit about the Hoshidoan siblings!

Apparently Kamui didn't feel like his Nohr siblings were sibling enough to keep them from being prospect spouses.

Hoshido being Kamui's birthright doesn't stop them from fucking those siblings either.

I thought that a lot of people were picking based on specific characters on either side they were interested in romancing? Or if not a lot, that's definitely a thing.

There's also details like the Hoshido side is said to be easier (allows random encounters), it has a totally different cultural aesthetic, Hoshido is supposedly the defending nation rather than an invading army, etc. I planned from the start to play both but after looking at the characters I want to send a male tactician to Hoshido and a female tac to Nohr. For breeding >.>

(Anonymous) 2015-07-08 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm definitely going to pick based on who I want to pair up with. For same sex pairings, the choice is even more limited.

But come on, we still have a year before this gets an English language release.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-08 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Because I want to fuck Ryouma.

JUDGE ME, NOHRIAN.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-08 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Because Hoshido has more hotties

(Anonymous) 2015-07-09 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoshido's dudes do nothing for me tbh. Same with the ladies save Hinoka.

Nohr on the other hand? Hell yeah.

OT, but what is going on with this cover? I can barely tell where one person's outfit ends and another begins, and the blue-haired girl looks like she has a giant unicorn penis.
