What's the kink? I couldn't make it through the first episode

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Gay porn, basically. She actually has a line like "I just love gay porn!"

(The dialogue in this show is SO SO BAD.)

Does she say that to gay men? Because that is as creepy as when guys do that. Having the kink is one thing. But telling that to a gay couple is absolutely creepy.

It's a bit less threatening when a woman does it to gay dudes than when men do it to women, tho.

That's true. It doesn't have the same possessive, threatening overtones. But I still say it is creepy.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but not as creepy.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
that doesn't have any relevance at all to its rightness or wrongness. it's wholly irrelevant.

As seen from on here yesterday, AS LONG AS SOMETHING A WOMAN DOES IT NOT AS BAD AS A MAN, IT ISN'T A PROBLEM!

(Anonymous) 2015-07-08 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Psst: putting your reading incomprehension in shouty capitals does not magically cancel it out. No-one is saying it isn't a problem, just that it has different connotations.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You that same idiot from yesterday? Saying it was cool for women to drug men because it isn't as bad?

I bet you think female teachers sleeping with male students are fine, because it isn't like she has any REAL power over a guy.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. She was the cover/beard for a closeted gay actor, and she said this in front of him and his partner.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
The acting in that show was so terrible. :/

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It was the writing, for me

the Wachowskis need to start hiring people to work on dialogue for them, I think

I agree. I think they have great ideas, but it doesn't always work because of the dialogue problem (among other things).

(Anonymous) 2015-07-07 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
That was done by the Wachowskis? THat explains so much.

Dialogue and editing.
