I hate it when a character leaves, and their friend group reforms without them. Then they come back, and they don't have a place anymore. I hate seeing it and it makes me want to cry.

Eugh, I've never had a very tight-knit friend group myself but (or so) that makes me heart hurt too.

It's not much of a trope, but I hate it when characters suddenly leave and there's no resolution or anything, bam, gone

It is realistic in that real life doesn't tie every end up neatly and people might have to leave for extended periods due to emergencies or die or whatnot but in fiction it's so grating to have those plotlines hanging loose or dropped and nothing is ever done about them

I hate it when a character is in love with one character and yet dating someone else. It happens in real life, of course. But in fiction it is always treated as fine whereas in real life I think it is a pretty shitty thing to do to the person you are dating unless you are honest with them about it.
