Re: Summer Anime 2015
The summary for Rokka no Yuusha sounded interesting, but dear heavens is the show bad. Megadump of exposition all over the first episode, wayyy too much lousy cgi, and the character designs... the minute I saw them I knew we weren't talking quality, here. The mc is an utter asshole, too. But his design is attractive.
Overlord... I didn't have many expectations tbh, and I doubt it'll be very good. Some tiny part of me is vaguely intrigued as to where they'll be taking it, but it's too obviously fanservicey to me.
Akagami no Shirayukihime has some potential. I loved Akatsuki no Yona when it came out, and this is definitely giving off similar vibes, though I have absolutely no idea what the actual plot is atm. The first episode was cute in terms of characters, but I'm not sure if *they* know what exactly the series is supposed to be. It felt more like a oneshot than a first episode... I will keep watching and see, though.
Chaos Dragon is wtf on every level. The character designs are abysmal. The animation is annoying. I couldn't get past the first few minutes.
Ushio to Tora is... kind of entertaining? It seems very Standard Shounen to me, and kind of forgettable. It seems relatively solidly done, though, for its type.
Dragonball Super is hitting all my nostalgia buttons. I can't even tell you if it's good or not atm XD (I actually didn't watch Dragon Ball Kai - I basically remember the plot and didn't feel the need to see it again, but now I'm considering rewatching the stuff with Future Trumks).
looks like this'll be a slow season for me. I mean there's still the ufotable thing to check out, because they do really pretty animation. I'm catching up mostly on some of the stuff I missed when I was younger, like Utena.
