Maybe he should have included a few where both partners were more feminine. I've known a few lesbian couples like that.

There is at least one where neither is obviously butch, at least (they're quite small when they first appear though). It is funny how easy it is to be mistaken in such small bursts though.

Yeah, it's ridiculously easy for "butch" to read as "dude."

Thing is, the women in question aren't really particularly 'butch', imo - just androgynous, which personally I think is different but maybe not? Like, the woman in the picture there I definitely wouldn't call butch - sure she's wearing a shirt and has short hair but idk? Maybe I'm defining butch wrong...

Unfortunately most people raised in predominantly straight environments will tend to do that with even the slightest bit androgynous people let alone butch female identified people. The brain with take a shortcut to "normalize" the unfamiliar by making it familiar. IE: That's definitely a woman so they must be a man.

Yay internalized cisism! (Except not really for those of us that don't meet most gender norms)

Except it really isn't any actual 'ism' at all.

I hate this song.

I've never heard it.
