Pie, the ancient Greeks tell us, is morally serious because mankind's noblest aim is the loving contemplation of worthy things.

It's okay to think too much about pie, because pie is awesome.

...

Now I want pie.

...Dean?

Is this even a real diner?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Sort of. A lot of the scenes were filmed in Twede's Cafe up in North Bend, Washington:

damn fine, anon. could it be any other way?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
I was just there last week and the pie was very good! I am not picky about my baked goods, though. I hope you get to try it!

How do you people eat cherry pies? Cherry fillings are absolutely disgusting!

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
If you mean that crap that comes from a can, then yeah. But this is like asking how people can like Mexican food when Taco Bell is so disgusting.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I am picky about my cherry pie. It can't be that canned crap, and it needs to have the perfect amout of sugar to leave the cherries tart, but not sour.

Cherry pie is srs bzns, anon.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Not a fan of cherry either, I'd rather have apple if we are having a fruit pie. My absolute favorite pie is sugar creme.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
I was there pretty recently! The pie was definitely better than average, though I'm not sure I'd call it perfect. The filling was delicious, but I did find the crust just a little too crumbly for my tastes.

The coffee was awwwweeeesome though.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
You say you think too much about pie. I say you don't think enough about pie.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Where I work, we celebrate both Pi Day (March 14) and Pi Approximation Day (July 22).

I urge you to do the same. It's a great excuse to eat massive amounts of pie.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking of pie, have you watched Pushing Daisies? I know it's off topic but I'm just wondering.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-11 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It's okay. I don't recall the crust being really stand-out one way or another. But it wasn't soggy! And the coffee was fresh and hot but nothing super special.

The atmosphere was great, though...
