See, I think the setting in the first game is way creepier and obviously it was quite unexpected...so I do get where you're coming from. It was both surprising and there was SO much tension; it was an excellent bit of horror.

The creatures in 2 look more frightening, but what got to me was really just how strong they were. I had a stupidly difficult time killing them so even though objectively I feel like they weren't as scary, I freak out at the sight of them because I know what a pain in the ass they're going to be.

And frankly, I didn't expect them either. After Uncharted I should have, but I think I went, "lolnope, they'll do something else!" They did do something else...something else terrible.
