The scene is definitely not clear, although I saw it out of order. (My fiancee started watching the show, and would keep calling me over with "OMG YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS" for several scenes, including this one). I'm on ep 4 or 5, and the impression I'm getting from the sensates is that while I might not say they're pansexual outside the cluster -- it also would not surprise me if the others within their cluster were an "exception", just by virtue of how damned close you would have to be in that sort of situation. I mean, "exceptions" happen to real-life gay and lesbian people I know, so in a SF show with telepathy and all that, it would seem plausible to me.
