Re: Rant thread
She's got good health care and lives independently in a posh retirement facility, so if she does have any issues they're likely to notice. Also, my aunt drops the kids off at her place most afternoons while she shops/gets her nails done. She'd notice if her free babysitting was at risk of drying up. Then she'd call me immediately, because it would be too stressful for her to deal with and I am the fixer of things.
I'll text my aunt to talk to her neighbour to keep an eye out, though. I do know what you mean about behaviour changes and dementia. My pop had it, so I'm familiar with the warning signs. I had noticed over the last couple of years she's had more anxiety about certain things so I was already keeping an eye on her, but yes. Thanks for picking up on that.
Re: Rant thread
Well, if I didn't I'd be terrible at my job lol.
Whatever happens - and even if it's not dementia related - I think it's always pertinent to remember that those kinds of outbursts usually aren't strictly about you, and are more about the person having the outburst. It's cold comfort, and well after the fact, but some people find it easier to deal with/have an appropriate reaction to those situations.
tl;dr I'm bad at being comforting lol
