I only like shorter cropped beards. Long-ass ZZ Top beards are a big nope for me.

I love long beards, when they're actually taken care of; I'm talking full out viking braids. Those are wonderful to me.

Those can be nice, but as you say, maintenance is definitely key. Unkempt beards of any length are...not so good (and dirty as hell! There's an unbelievable amount of bacteria in those things).
