Because her experience is only with the movies. I mean, I get that. I understand that position. I understand how someone could come to that position. That's not even the problem here. The problem is when someone tells you "that's just the movies though and DC didn't make those" and the immediate response is IT'S STILL DC TO ME as if your opinion and experience is somehow greater than stuff like context and facts.

I could say in my experience evolution is a myth because I've never seen a man evolve from an ape. Does that mean my opinion is somehow more valuable than 200+ years of science and research?

the movies are part of dc though. I get that WB has most creative input, but that doesn't make them NOT DC.

No, it makes them WB movies with the DC logo on because it uses DC characters, which WB technically owns because they own DC. This isn't that hard to understand.

Early Frank Miller run from the early 80s. Some amazing stuff here, and not at all "Frank Miller."

It reminds me of all the really good Batman stories he didn't write.

Yeah that's kind of how I've always felt about Miller - he's a fucking insanely talented dude whose curse is (a) he's kinda crazy and (b) the legend of "Frank Miller" kind of overtook him really early to the point where he was allowed a complete freedom for all his indulgences and it just got fucking ridiculous

It's a shame, his Daredevil shit is real good

IMO his art sucks. John Romita Jr. did a great job of mimicking his style for the Man Without Fear mini but with a better sense of things like proportion and anatomy.

I really like his art! It's obviously super stylized but it honestly works for me most of the time.

I agree that Romita's probably better technically while having a lot of the same qualities stylistically, though.

I think most people are less committed to the idea of DC Comics as a creative entity than you are, so it's not surprising that someone would use it in a different sense

like, my point is just that the movies are, validly, one facet of DC (as a media thing and not a company). that's a valid way to talk about them.
